From Marvel.com:
Those familiar with the comic will not be overly surprised by the title of the new Wolverine spin-off movie set to be released on May 1, 2009. X-Men Origins: Wolverine brings back Hugh Jackman as the mysterious, adamantium-clawed mutant, and will be directed by Gavin Hood ("Tsotsi", "Rendition") and written by David Benioff ("The Kite Runner").
According to Variety, the film delves into Logan's past, his involvement with the Weapon X program, and includes the return of the characters Sabertooth and Stryker. Variety, also reports that Liev Schreiber is in talks to play the younger William Stryker, while IMDB.com lists Brian Cox, who played the character in X2: X-Men United, to be "rumored", as well.
With one of the film's locations to be New Orleans, it's believed that a certain sexy, "card"-carrying mutant may make an appearance...
A girl can only dream....{sigh}
