The Special Events Hall at the Jacob K. Javits Center will be christened the IGN.com Theater at the upcoming New York Comic Con (NYCC), which takes place April 18 – 20 in New York City.
The partnership, which will provide a natural New York City-based launching pad for the summer movie season, underscores the growing relationship between leading Hollywood movie studios and New York Comic Con. IGN.com, considered to be one of the industry's top entertainment and videogame news portals, attracts over 20 million unique visitors every month.
The IGN.com Theater will feature movie previews and premieres, Guest of Honor appearances, and live musical performances.
In announcing these plans, NYCC show organizers are also pleased to reveal that New Line Cinema has already confirmed its presence in The IGN.com Theater, previewing upcoming films including Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay (in theaters April 25th) and Journey to The Center of the Earth 3D (in theaters July 11th).
"We are very excited to have IGN.com as a partner," states Lance Fensterman, Show Manager for NYCC.

"This is a natural step for our show and it further establishes us as a citywide festival that has broad entertainment appeal to a large audience.
IGN.com has deep ties to the movie industry, and so their involvement certainly enhances our own efforts to provide Hollywood with a great East Coast starting point for big movie projects.
New Line Cinema is already onboard, and we are currently finalizing other studios' plans for New York Comic Con. We're very eager to display New York Comic Con's biggest and best programming in the IGN.com Theater."
